About

The rhythm
behind it all

Zi's career began with the Singapore Armed Forces Band — over a decade as Percussion Group Leader, performing at international tattoos across Japan, Russia, Germany, Sweden, the USA, and beyond.

Today he runs Arrows Music, teaches at Tanglin Trust School and NEXUS International School, performs with The Jukuleles, and builds apps for the music community.

He holds an LTCL in Percussion with Distinction from Trinity College London, is a founding member of SIRD, and an honorary member of NARD (USA).

Sharing the craft

Beyond regular teaching, Zi runs clinics and workshops for conservatory students, school bands, and percussion ensembles — bringing his expertise in rudimental drumming and performance to the next generation.

Past engagements include the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Singapore National Youth Orchestra, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and various secondary school and polytechnic programmes.
